"Which way are you walking, and Who are you walking with?"

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law doeth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water which bringeth forth fruit in his season; his leaves also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper…

The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous…

For God knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish…” Psalm 1:1-6

In the days of my youth it was very easy for me to become friendly with others… Back then I was unconcerned with a person’s status, belief system, or family background. I just figured that people were people; no two were the same and that our differences were what made the world go round.

“Life Was So Much Simpler Then.”

Fast forward to the present… although it’s true that our differences are what makes us unique; it’s also true that they will ultimately determine our place in eternity.

It seems that we’ve become a people who have forgotten our history and are dangerously doomed to repeat it. Why you might ask?

Just as it was in the days of Noah; God sees that the wickedness of mankind is great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart is only evil continually… (Ref Genesis 6)

We live in a day where it’s alright (in this wicked society) for babies to have babies out of wedlock, gangsters and rap artist are celebrated. Marijuana and cocaine have basically become the “Gross National Product”

Greed is an acceptable attitude, and it’s alright to be insatiable. The world has become a sexually deviate generation by which no one is off limits regardless of age, gender, or physical abilities.

And now it’s finally come to this….

The other day President Obama announced that he’s acceptable to same-sex marriages. It leaves me to wonder if our commander and chief felt this way all along. I do recall that when he was still a senator, his views were different. The president stated that in accordance to his Christian beliefs, marriage was created by God as a holy covenant between a man and a woman.

It’s no secret that acceptance of same-sex marriages has been gaining momentum, especially in this election year. The president cited that his daughters have friends who are the children of same-sex parents and based on that fact, he’s changed his position on the idea. I had to ask myself;

“Has the gay/lesbian population become so powerful that it can cause the President of these United States to change his views to align with theirs?”

It was once said of this country that it was founded upon Godly principles, however in the same manner that God and prayer was removed from our schools, it seems that there is an attempt to push him completely out of our system. The sins that Christ died to save us from are surely becoming an accepted lifestyle in this wicked society. “SIN IS POPULAR”

A lot can be said about popularity.

Here’s what Jesus says in reference to popularity:

“…for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go therat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

(Ref Matthew 7:13-14)

Today I can still make friends very easily, but I’m reminded daily of my father’s words to me as a young man: “everybody is not your friend.”
I’m not encouraging Christians to hate others, our every action must be based on love because God so loved us, and we are crucified with Christ.
Needless to say, I’ve learned to be a bit more selective when it comes to choosing my friends. I want to ensure that I’m surrounded by good counsel on a daily basis; and should the few friends that I choose be guilty of anything, let them be guilty of meditating on the word of God both day and night. I suppose that would also make me guilty by association. After all, you are the company that you keep.

Here’s what I decided on; I’m going to walk daily with Jesus and my faithful few friends along the narrow path which leads to life everlasting, because:

“The path to a friends house is never far, and their company is full of wisdom"
